Unknown agate acquired from an estate without any markings. Does anyone know where this may have come from and or a name for it? Thanks

Just guesses but it may be a piece from the top of a botryoidal section of Creede Colorado Sowbelly Agate or it might be a hunk of Amethyst Lace out of Mexico.....Mel

I know opinions are like arm pits most people have more than one and they usually both stink! So here is my opinions: Could be a piece of Prudent Man Agate from ID. the second is the green could be glauconite in Agate & Quartz from a cutoff of a Brazilian Amythest piece. See the image below. The gray at the bottom could be basalt or cement used to hold it in a block while being sawed. If it is basalt then my guess would be a cutoff from a large thick Amethyst rind. I have seen many nice pieces like this interesting plumes and structure in agate on Amethyst rind. If it is cement then forget the amethyst rind theory.
