My next Wire Wrap idea popped into my head today, had to put it down on paper so I can Wrap my head around it. This will use a single, heavy gauge wire around the rock and a small wrap at the top to hold it all together. Another industrial look like my First Wrap. Will likely use smaller wire than household 12 gauge wiring, probably 14 or 16 gauge if I have some. May needed to make this tomorrow.

Wish I could draw- you should see my sketches. LOL! I think it's a great idea to sketch out your plans. I can't wait to see the finished result.

The front is the side you like the most.

But a sketch is needed to show yourself how to do it and what the idea can produce. In your mind, you already know what it is supposed to look like.

Had a busy New Years but I did finish the wrap that I had been planning, will make a few more soon as it only takes about 30 minutes to make it. Using standard mechanics tools Went through all my rocks and selected all the best ones suited for my next few projects Selected the rocks most useful to this project with large wire Built the Wire Frame from measurements I made from the rock Assembled it all and tweaked it for about 5 minutes Pictures are a little dark but you can see what's going on ok I guess Haven't tried to find my smaller gauge wire yet, would probably work better for smaller stones This one weighs almost 2 ounces at 52 grams, probably too heavy to wear Looking forward to making some more since I still have all the stuff sitting on my desk.

Ingenious. I reckon you could use that wrap from 16g up. Maybe even 18 if it is half hard. What gauge did you use, 12?

Meant to point out that this stone is one of the cheap rocks from Family Dollar that I had posted about last Summer.
and I need to get some Jewelers Tools to keep the scratching down a bit.

You could try wrapping the jaws of the pliers with something like glass tape. (a fiberglass electrical tape)

You can also grind off the teeth. I've done that before. Then smooth with emory boards.
