I bought something on eBay and it came shipped via Amazon prime. It has happened to me several times. I know what people are doing, but it really pisses me off. This order came in broken pieces which were in a baggie in the package with some pieces missing. So, they deliberately sent me a broken item with missing pieces. I shot off an email to the seller on eBay. They pretty much said go to hell. I called amazon and told them. I also said this seller is making them look bad, since the package and return address were amazon. They are opening an investigation. Don't know how much good that will do, but at least I feel better.
The ebay seller is doing one of 2 things- they sell on amazon and on ebay OR -and this is what I think they are doing.... they have an AZ acct. They take orders on ebay, purchase on AZ, insert my address as a gift and have it sent to me via AZ 2 day mail. I have AZ prime. I don't want my rates hiked because of butt wipes like them.
They are getting a fat negative from me on ebay. Stay away from the seller Home-Gallery. I bought diamond burs from them.

Luckily I have never had that happen to me. I would be more than a little upset. Ebay will probably refund the money, unless the pendulum has swung back to the other side. I can never keep track.

So sorry this happened to you. Very disappointing. Purchasing on the internet is becoming harder and harder now.

File a complaint with Ebay, too, and request a refund from them.
That seller sounds like scum and I would be bitchin' and moaning to everyone I could think of. Perhaps even a complaint with the FCC. I'm kinda vindictive like that.

Ebay will make it right, but should not have too. I purchase a lot on Ebay, but always look at the sellers feedback rating. If the one I found of your seller is right, I would not buy anything from them. Lot of negatives in the last month.

It's sellers like these who make both ebay and amazon look bad.

I have noticed lately that many things on Amazon can be bought elsewhere for less money, so shopping around is a must. I rarely buy anything on e bay and have found I'm money ahead in the long run, and less stress to stick with the suppliers I have used for years.

Whenever we try to buy something in town, we usually can't find what we're looking for and spend a ton of time and gas just looking for it. Easier to do amazon. I think I come out at least even. A few things we buy regularly, we do because it saves us money.

I finally stopped using E-Bay a couple of years ago. For selling they got real expansive and for buying, just too many shady sellers out there that send the wrong stuff, don't send anything, or misidentify or misrepresent items. And interestingly, no one seems to misidentify an expensive specimen as a cheap one. It's always misidentifying something cheap as expensive to their financial advantage. I pay way more attention to customer reviews now and really limit the number of outfits I deal with online....Mel

I still use ebay quite a bit, but only buy from proven sellers who I've bought from for years. I prefer buying and shopping local, though.

We gave up because we couldn't find what we wanted. DH had a favorite hobby store that carries a lot of specialized stuff. They no longer carry any of it and they look like they are ready to go under. It has been sad to watch, actually. I'd love to support local, but they don't support me.

When it comes to the rock stuff I understand. We have 2 that have been in the area for years. The one in Portland is like the one you describe, been in death throes for years. The one closer to me is always busy. The 90 something year old woman who runs it personally goes to Qsite and Tucson, and individually hand picks every item she brings back. When she gets back it's like Christmas in March. Her sons jewelers supply shop and the local precious metals place is well stocked when I need it yesterday.

The internet is a cesspool of sellers.
