Well done (again!) Rob.
I think he may have snuck something in on ya with that blue/green rock in pic #4. It's not coral and I didn't see anything like that in Zapata. Jim, that one from Texas?

Great tumbles Rob. Not sure about the green one. You did them great justice. I really hunted for the palm. Just not that common where I was.

This one reminds me of a slice of citrus. When I joined the local Rock Club they gave me a stone that tumbled out just like your Slice of Citrus rock It's in the center if this pic

The last two solo pics are great.
Rock on!

Good looking bunch, Rob. Those Texas rocks are fun to tumble. That palm is sweet, I'd love to have a whole bucket of that stuff. Were these pics done with your iPad also?

Great looking batch Rob. jamesp coral is always fun to tumble. That stuff takes an agate shine every time. I like the variety in the Texas stuff too. Chuck

Yep, they turned out a little better this time. I spend much more time tweaking the images in iPhoto before posting them though, I rarely adjust anything when taking pictures with the camera. I have to crop every image to remove the light tent that appears in the corner of every picture. I also have to adjust the color or some other quality of the picture. I get much less consistent results with the iPad. I have a big halogen light outside of the light tent and then I sometime hand hold a fluorescent light with a cheap shop reflector on the back. I move the light around to get the glare where I want it. That light seems to make the white background much more yellow with the iPad than with the camera.

Is the Ipad Air a single or dual lens camera? On my Iphone 7 Plus it has 2 completely separate lenses. One for normal pictures and one that is a 2X zoom. That way there is no digital magnification. The 2X zoom photos ahve the same exact quality as the 1X. Just wondering if they added that to the newer Ipads. Chuck

Slow day today and there hasn't been any tumbling going on for a weeks. Too cold to run the water hose. Maybe I'll pull some finished rocks from the bowl and mess around with iPad pics. See what happens.

I found setting the filter to "Chrome" in iPhoto edit mode made the pictures really pop. The colors were just about what I was seeing in real life (maybe a little more "exciting", but it was close enough with only having to click one button).

It only has one camera, but it’s the same as on the single camera iPhone 7. They used to put older cameras in iPads, but the iPad Pro has the current camera as the phones of the same time.

Looking at the size of an iPad in my case a 9.7 inch unit you could see several cameras mounted on the back as it is dead space. They may even come out with a bayonet mount for connecting dedicated lenses. 2 lenses a great option. clever stuff For what it is worth my iPad is a Model 1673 and was purchased mid 2017 with 256 memory. Cameras have been collecting dust since discovering iPad camera. That photo you took Chuck of a Rio and Texasrockhunter's phone photos impressive. I made a black dot on the front side corner where the camera lens is located. Tired of finding the taking corner. It is sensitive to background color. Too much white in the background adversely effects photos like wash and color balance impact. Select a good balance of rocks and background and there will be little photo shop corrections needed. I just share the photo directly to flickr (or cloud to Photo on Mac Rob). Composing w/big screen sure makes it easy to optimize photo.
