Hi, After digging and chiseling for an hour or so with completely inadequate tools and trundling it about 400 yds to my car, I find myself in possession of a 124 lb chunk, mostly agate. It's about 16"x16"x12". I'm fantasizing about bookends. Might there be someone on here in northern NV who has a 36" saw? (I'm about an hour east of Reno.)
Being a noob I have no clue of the cost involved, or maybe some trade in material?
Or, perhaps just "yard art" for the next decade or so...

It might cost you a couple hundred dollars to have your chunk transformed into polished bookends. Maybe you could find someone to do it for less and trade of material - if it is worth having.
Would love to see pictures of your find! Nice use of trundling.
Welcome to the forum. If you are willing to do all that work to get a huge chunk of agate home, you will like it here!

Well, my idea was to just get it cut; I'll eventually have what it takes to shape and polish. Here it is - nothing in the photo for scale though. flic.kr/s/aHsm8PerMj
