Been toying with this idea for a while.

The wrap material is black "catgut". I crocheted the catgut to form the wrap. I will make sure the next one has even crocheting.

Catgut is very challenging to crochet, lol.

This still needs a final clean-up, but not too bad for a first time experiment.

This one is Magnesite (dyed Turquoise) with natural color catgut.

Not stiff. A bunch of individual "hairs" that are fused together. When crocheting, the hairs like to separate if I do not position the crochet hook just so.
