Way too far away from me, but would have loved to be among the vultures - looks like some great material there.

OMG... My parents are in Florida right now. Were in Tampa, going to Orlando today or tomorrow... They don't know anything about rocks, but I would enjoy sending them to look LOL captbob, why are you posting this & not running over to look?

Because the good stuff will almost certainly be cleaned out and it's a haul to go for near zero chance of success on the high end stuff he covets. Sad to see this. He would enjoy those high end stuffs

I'm hoping he's on the road. Worth the gamble in my book.

I have sent them a craigslist email, but as Scott said, the best will be long gone. I'm absolutely sick having missed this opportunity. Not like out west where rock estate type sales come along frequently. This is a once in a year (if lucky!) event in Florida.

Oh good Lord! Can't say it hasn't happened to me and it is a horrible feeling. Got to a garage sale one time when a guy was just pulling out with a pickup load full of prize material. Nothing but junk left for old me.....Mel

Yeah, I'm gonna be kicking myself all day for missing this one. Haven't heard back from them, but don't really expect to. I'll go back to checking craigslist twice a day and find nothing worth buying for the next 6 months. That looked like a once in a lifetime pile of Teepee and Dryhead - may never see anything like that again here in the No Rocks State.

Dude, I feel your pain. Things like that don't come up on this coast often enough.
Isn't there an ap for checking craig's list? I don't have a cel, but I thought there were ppl who used an ap to catch the good sales.

Just received this reply.
Hi Bob, it's not a problem that missed our showing today. We have a ton of stuff ... seriously, and we haven't even made a dent in the best stuff. We're slowly bringing out more and more as we're downsizing.
We'll be showing again tomorrow (Sun) between 12 and 4 and then on Monday, Tuesday from 2-4. I don't know yet after that. Let us know if and when you think you might be able to make the trip!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...
Will email back and see if they are serious about still having "good stuff" left. It is a solid 3 hour drive each way. Don't want to go for a bunch of stupid crystal pieces or antlers.
Hope springs eternal!

Reply to my questions about still having "the good stuff" Hi Bob, yes we have a great deal of high-quality material. Most folks who have been here are jewelry makers and interested in slabs and obsidian or opals, turquoise, etc. So, yes, come on tomorrow! etc ... Very optimistic! where is the fingers crossed smiley face thingy? Road trip tomorrow. Gonna be freakin' freezing in the morning. < -- cross to bear Mel Sabre52 and others - price help? Teepee Canyon and Dryhead agate material ?? I will check eBay, but things there are usually pretty jacked up. What does dino bone go for? (ballpark?) Will check sold eBay listings prices. Gonna be an interesting day tomorrow. Wonder how much weight a Tundra can hold ...
