I've been working slowly on a bunch of material probably from Utah that I acquired in an estate acquisition. Some of it looks very much like dino bone from yellow cat mine area north of Moab. And indeed some of it is probably red wood material from the same general area. But distinguishing these bright reds is problematic for me. The ones with the yellow matrix in the center are likely to be dino, I think. But anyone who has strong opinions is welcome to guide my thinking. Some of the solid red material is certainly from yellow cat and likely to be wood, but . . . .

Peruano I can't say I have ever seen Dino bone like the agates with the yellow center. Usually Dino bone has the same type internal structure as the bone in your T-bone. My opinion is that they are agates and very pretty ones at that. If they are not agates outright then maybe filling after the fossil has be eroded away kind of like the Psuedomorph from Utah (Agate after Barite). Of course we are dealing with images and in real life they may say something that the camera just can't recreate. Beautiful stones.

I agree they don't look like typical dino bone, but I'm wondering if a marrow cavity, as opposed to a spongy matrix might have been fossilized in a different manner. Reptile bone is replaced and eroded as the animal grows and cavities form where solid bone occurred previously. Thanks for the input.

The concensus in quartzsite was that it's all red wood. Thanks for the help.

Great bold colors. They look like yellow cat area to me also and limb casts.
