So my old guy neighbor comes over this afternoon. He knows about my rock obsession. Has a local freebie mag in his hand. The kind with all sorts of ads in it.
see this coming yet?
Has an ad in the mag circled with an ink pen that he thinks I should see.
Ad: Lortone arbor model MP-8, Raytech 10" diamond saw, type LS-10, Star Diamond saw, grinder and polisher, Lortone compact tumbler, model QT-NR. 3 - $400 for all. Firm
I called and it's still available. Guess where I'm going in the morning. Wonder what else he has ... all that equipment, I figure he must have rocks too!

If the Saw is in good shape you could make this venture profit you. How often does that happen??

PS... buying wife unit a new microwave on the way home tomorrow. Just in case. Then looking for a place to hide all that lapidary stuff if I get it. (as if there is any doubt...) I'm running out of hiding places space! Can't wait to tell her I'm going back to Cocoa. It's the little things that make life worth living!

I stopped at Best Buy on the way home and got a microwave, but I may need to go back and get one of those Dyson vacuum cleaners that wimmins seem to like.
Or maybe just go to Home Depot and get the wood to build a nice big dog house!
Photos coming, gotta unload the truck.
I'm in SO much trouble! (due to lack of room to put all this stuff)

Aye, was taught that from momma when I was much younger. I learnz gud! Thing is, she had asked for a microwave before Christmas. NO way I was gonna break a momma rule. So, when in need of appeasement get 'em what they asked for. She frowns on flowers as they die, is allergic to chocolate (that's way good!) and doesn't wear jewelry. May need to add in the night out idea! Truck unloaded, pictures taken. Gotta resize 'em and I'll post, showing why I probably need to add the night out.

alrighty... you know the back story from above. So I go to see the items for sale this morning, and meet a nice old gentleman at the house. This was not his equipment. Maybe a brother or uncle that had passed away, I don't remember, and it's just taking up space to him. I QUICKLY look everything over (ad in magazine didn't quite cover all that was there!) and say to him that I have one problem. That he has under priced the lot. He knew, but wanted it gone. I told him I would be happy to take it, but I would pay $500 instead of 400. He was happy and I still stole all this crap. win win 8" Lortone arbor thing Dual 6 lb Lortone tumbler with 3 extra barrels (ad said 3 lb tumbler) 6" Star Diamond grinder/polisher with 6" saw and new boxed blade. Should clean up nicely. 10" Raytech Hustler vibrating lap 10" Raytech autofeed saw - will clean up. with uncracked hood (hoods are usually cracked) needs washin' brandy new 14" saw blade - will fit on my BD HP-14 saw (thank you very much!) Sears (Scott-Murry knockoff) 6 lb tumbler , a 10" SiC wheel (?) and some kinda felt wheel (?) The lot - There were also boxes and buckets of rocks and misc items that I haven't even gone through yet, and a bunch of old lapidary magazines. Now I gotta go find room for everything! oh... the microwave best set that up before the wife unit returns home. wonder what them Dysons cost ...

That's a great deal and very nice of you to offer above asking price. I bought that same model raytech saw a few years ago for $200 then cleaned it up and sold it for $400 with no lid. I really like that Lortone arbor. We had one at the rock club and they are real solid units.

The mircrowave looks very nice I don't like flowers either, prefer a plant that will live awhile Chocolate is over rated Seeing the pictures below a dinner is a must---maybe a spa treatment as well???

. I told him I would be happy to take it, but I would pay $500 instead of 400. Good golly captbob! You really are a nice guy The LS-10 was my first auto-feed saw. It works wonderfully. And yes, my hood had a corner crack that I patched. Stay away from Dyson (at least per Consumer Reports). I love my Roomba. That way she wont have to vacuum (at least not as often)!

Right? might as well get her an apron, some kitchen towels, laundry detergent, and a 12" skillet.
