llanago,
hi, you may wish to reduce your pics a touch so that the "reply"link is within the viewing area of the screen - I had to scroll over to the right to see the reply link.
But then again my PC isnt exactly top of the range and others - with a better resolution - may see the link with no probs.
Anyways, most of your rocks there are agates.
I need to go to google to search for "what forms agates" "agate structure" "agate formation"
To get the lowdown on why these stunning rocks exist.
The orange coloured one at the top middle of the second pic is absolutely almost like a fossilized plant.
What causes this? I have no idea - every rock is different and they come from the mother.
Andrew.

Andy, sorry for that mess! Can't figure out exactly how it happened since both pics were the same size. Anyhoo, I just used another pic of the same batch.
I know they are all agates, I'm just curious to know what kind. Been looking for pics to help me identify them but haven't had any luck. Guess it really doesn't matter cause I think they are all neat looking.

John, I bet they are moss agates. It looks just like moss embedded in them. Since red is my favorite color, I love all the reds too!
Tami, I love that snowflake obsidian. I am thinking I want to wirewrap it. The lower brown spot looks kinda like a face of some sort.

LOL! Too funny! Of course, now I'm gonna have to take that rock outside and beat hell out of it with the hammer! It probably is a Texas rock, but let's get something straight here. GWB ain't no Texan! He and his criminal family are Carpetbaggers from Maine. Sure wish they would have chosen some other state to settle in. First we had to suffer the embarrassment of that crook LBJ, then Old Man Bush and now Baby Bush. We have suffered enough! GWB is dumber than a box of rocks! I take that back, wouldn't want to insult rocks! He's dumber than last year's bird's nest! Now, back to talking about rocks. It's a much more pleasant subject and doesn' t cause my blood pressure to skyrocket!

Hey! My pictures must be reversed because on the lower right of the second photo I see what I believe to be a snow flake obsidian. I down loaded some pictues of tumbled stones and keep them as a refrence. They are all very beautiful!

Not real sure about this, but the one on the upper right corner, the purple item, almost looks like the bunch of Tiffany Stone (Bertrandite, Opal Flourite) that I have... it goes by a few different names, but it does seem to have the same characteristics as your purple beauty there... Whatever it is, I think it'll come out quite nice once it's finished...
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Billy, I have been grinding on that purple beauty for a couple of hours getting the uck off it. Still haven't decided what I want to do with it. I am thinking I am going to put a high shine on it and mount it on a really cool piece of driftwood I have.
