Updated to add the, hopefully, final version of the video format.

rockjunquie Tela, Can you slow down your fade on your intro and closing and make them show a bit longer? The first one, IMHO, is really quick. The last one is better, but It could be a couple seconds longer.

Yeah I can. Do you see how awkward I am at self promoting? It feels weird to me to be so in your face. But, I understand. Thanks.

I can't recall, but I think I read somewhere that the fade should be about 5 seconds. Otherwise it can be distracting. I think the first one was around 2 seconds, and the last one was about 4. I'm no video expert, so please take that with a grain of salt.

rockjunquie I have no real clue how you are going to use these videos but if I don't know who you are I will have no real reason to click on the video. If the pendant is the thing I see before the video starts I know what it is about. I say pendant then the way you have it set up now..............MrP

5 seconds seems like an eternity to me. LOL! Short attention span, I guess. I'm converting the improved one now. aDave

I am putting these on youtube to link to my shop. I was torn between picking a thumbnail. So, your opinion helps. I can choose a thumbnail that shows the piece. That way when people browse my videos on YT they'll see at a glance what is what.

It'll take a little time before the thumbnail updates.
OK, there it goes. It's updated.
Also, I am expecting white gloves in the mail today or tomorrow and will start videoing all my jewelry.

Well, Amazon said my gloves were delivered Thurs. NOT! My package went missing. I ordered the gloves again and they should be here tomorrow. I'm really liking doing the videos. So much easier than pictures!!

That is a nice promo video. It can be tough to go from photographer to videographer. A photographer often does not leave the video running long enough on a specific subject.

I have some experience in video editing, I could add voice-over or gentle music to the background if you'd like. You may want to overlay your logo and site instead of transitioning.
Just email me some raw footage and I'll play with it after work. ☺️

Oh, guess I should begin mention the software I use. I use CyberLink's PowerDirector (version 16, just upgraded).
Also, what format was your first camera saving in? There's a good chance PowerDirector accepts it and can convert it easily.

There's a good chance PowerDirector accepts it and can convert it easily. Thank you so much for the offer. I tried music and decided against it. Is it better to have music? I've been learning HitFilm Express 4 as I go. My camera saves in m2ts. My software doesn't have a problem with it. I'm pleasantly surprised by this little camera. I am also learning it as I go. I found the manual white balance which works as well, if not better, than my expensive cameras. I'm finding that putting together the videos is easier than working with images. HitFilm is very intuitive once you get down a few basics. It also has white balance. I haven't used a video program yet that has it besides this. I tried a bunch of others, but no one program did all that I wanted until I found this. I have not used the one you mentioned, but Cyberlink is pretty good, in general. I tried some music and quickly found that if someone was perusing my vids, they'd get sick of the same song pretty quickly. So, I would need a variety of clips. Then I would run into copyright problems. What is your take on music? ETA- @overlay - I kinda want the beginning and end to be "in your face". If someone can remember my name, they can find my shop. Plus, I saved all the pieces that I reuse and just put them all together to form the clip.

You could also do voice-over, talk about the piece a little, ever watch a qvc infomercial? They blab too much, lot of empty words. But, it becomes the audio backdrop if you will. Silence can be unsettling or at the very least, off-putting.

I could do a voice over if I could ever get used to how my recorded voice sounds! Ewwww.... LOL!

The gaming group I'm in records several podcasts, that's one of the most commonly heard excuses for not signing up to record. "I don't like the sound of my voice!" No one does! Not at first. You either get used to it, or get over it lol 😂

Just try to have fun with it, do your best but don't judge yourself. The harshest critics are usually the self-critics!
