Kim, those are really some nice rocks! I bet they are really beautiful when finished! Can't wait to see them. Barbara and I got out the saw yesterday and cut some up, busted others up, we got at the rock shop last week. We both ended up with some real beauties that we can't wait to start on. If I wasn't so stinkin' tired, I would go get them out of the truck and take some pics of them to post, but just thinking about it makes me even more exhausted. We had our city wide garage sale yesterday and sat out on the street most of the day, then got all that cleaned up. Then set up the saw and cut and busted up rocks til dark, then had to clean that mess up! When I am too tired to mess with my rocks, you KNOW I am REALLY TIRED!

this is my 1st experience with agates - testing my patience!
john - i got them at kingsley north - they run from 2.40 to 4.00/lb depending on how many lbs you get - they have them in slab rough and tumbling rough. i only got 5 lbs but that was before i found out you need about 10 lbs to run a load all the way through on a 6# tumbler - wish i'd gotten more!

Kim,
I bet they are going to come out fantastic! I ran a batch of crazy lace, and I was very happy with the results. I also had to run them for about 6 weeks in coarse before I was happy with the shape.
Not sure if I should admit this, but I got the rocks from Astrogallery. A mixed bag of 20 pounds of agates. As other have mentioned, about 40%to 50% was decent to good, the rest are sitting in a bucket. The best of the batch was the crazy lace!
