The shiniest stones I ever owned are a few apache tears Chuck sent me. New definition of shiny shine. Fine batch Sir. Thanks James. You will probably tumble more glass in the next couple months then the rest of us do in a lifetime. Your process is a little tougher for most to repeat though between the home built rotary barrels at non standard speeds and the use of the vibrasonic that most folks don't have. You seem to have it all dialed in really good now though. The recipe I mentioned above makes this about as easy as baking cookies for folks with the Loto. Chuck

This load was more then 50 percent ceramic filler. That has been key for me. Lots of smalls and monitoring the slurry to keep the action gentle and consistent.
2 days in 120/220 4 days in 500 2 days in A/O .3 polish

Yep, that's it. It was the 4 days in 500, that I cut short for the 1st failure. The second was burnishing the batch, too long. Makes it rough when each mistake adds 6 more days to the process!

Wow! That looks so pretty. If I amy ask, do you use a rotary tumbler? What is your recipe? I have some obsidian and I have been holding off on processing it because I know that it is a harder one to perfect

I have some obsidian and I have been holding off on processing it because I know that it is a harder one to perfect Thank you I use a lot-o vibe tumbler for the final stages. I have seen a couple people on here post some really good obsidian from rotaries though. I posted the recipe in this thread already. About 4 or 5 posts beneath my original post. Chuck
