Iv'e been picking a few obsidian's out of each stage one batch and finally had enough to run a dedicated loto load. I still pretty much use tntmom's recipe from years ago and highly recommend it. I really like snowflake but it sure is difficult to get it without any flaws Thanks for looking Chuck

Super shine, Chuck. I've noticed my snowflake obsidian has little cracks that are hard to get rid of.

I haven't tried Snowflake, yet, hope to get some this Spring. Batch looks great, hope mine that's running comes out as good! I ran 7 days in a 6 LB barrel and boy were there a lot of dings! Added some more material and quite a bit of ceramic, hoping these clean up.
I'll go back and review that recipe.

I'm tumbling Obsidian now, two barrels with the rotary...Using rotary for the whole theme too....Someone gave me a recipe to try out, hopefully it works and I will pass it on... Takes nine weeks total, from start to finish...I'm in no hurry..LOL
Like your batch buddy, nice shines....

Would there be people interested in buying some obsidian, if so i will sent Tommy a MFRB box of various types to sold with an auction to benefit this fine site. If you send it to Tommy and then he sends it to the buyer there's double the shipping cost. Could just auction it yourself or set a price that is fair and if and when it sells paypal Tommy the donation. Just an idea to get the most bang for your donation dollars. Chuck

Chuck I send it to Tommy at my cost, Tommy sends it to the buyer at buyers cost. Simpler for me and don't have to fool with paypal or their fees. Thanks for the idea tho!

Great batch, Chuck. Perfect Shine & pictures. Tough to get that liquid shine, even in the lotto. Finished a batch a little while ago and it took 3 attempts to finish them out in the lotto. Still working on the picture part.
Thanks for sharing!

Still working on the picture part. Thanks for sharing! Thanks- This load was more then 50 percent ceramic filler. That has been key for me. Lots of smalls and monitoring the slurry to keep the action gentle and consistent. 2 days in 120/220 4 days in 500 2 days in A/O .3 polish Chuck

The shiniest stones I ever owned are a few apache tears Chuck sent me. New definition of shiny shine. Fine batch Sir.
