Depends entirely on color, schiller and size of stable/facetable area. If just yellow in too small a size to facet, he won't get much more than aquarium gravel prices. Facetable pieces are usually sold by the carat or gram on a sliding scale (goes up with bigger sizes, more rapidly with good reds and greens, even higher with dichroics and bi-tri colors). One of the more complicated stones to find comparable prices for rough.

It would be very helpful to get an idea of how much the person wants, and what quality, as mentioned above.

She wants about $100.00 for a pound or so (Maybe a bit over)...Most are small, yellow, yellow white,a few whites..,like small fingernail size.....My opinion, I though that to be quite high... Just don't want my friend to get burned.....Being new at hounding..

You never know. Sometimes somebody who has a specific project in mind that calls for a bunch of uncut gemstones will pay whatever its worth to them to grab a box. An artist who needed a bunch of shiny gem-rocks for a wall they were doing and paid a local rock shop to have barrels of it shipped overseas.

That seems a lot higher for that grade than I've paid in recent years but prices tend to go upward and I'm not in touch with the current market. If clean, the yellow-to-whitish labradorites from Oregon called "sunstones" facet into much brighter gems than one would expect from their optical properties. Colored material with schiller and without can bring very high prices as mentioned above.
