you caused me to have to break out my rock books and read as i've never heard of this one. my book said it was a 5.5-6 hardness. did you start it on 60/90? seems it is a mixture of many things. keep us posted on how it goes.

Cool stuff John! Never heard of it either. My question is, where will you keep them when they're done? In water or on land? ;D hehe, later, Don

i just checked it for the 3rd time been 6 days and its not done allmost though, so i put it back in with fresh grit ill give it acouple more days and check again, it shaped up pretty good lost about a 3rd of the size but still has a few spots here and there i dont like, this stuff will hafta be pre shaped alittle befor i doit again so i dont lose as much next time, i see acouple rocks have allmost clear quartz coming through on them, but most are still real black with sparkles in them if they take a polish they will look cool kinda reminds me of the gold stone rocks with the sparkles in it---seeya----john

john you've got this slab thing under control. you are turning out some nice slabs. are you cabbing any yet?
i didn't get anything done with my rocks this weekend - slipped off fishing - my hubby and i should have had a scooby-doo pole like my daughter - at least hers had a fish on the end even if it was plastic ;D - but we had fun and i was glad hers didn't have a hook since she was whapping us in the heads every few seconds with that fish - kept reminding us what they're suppose to look like.

Nice lookin' stuff John. Don't think I have ever see that particular stone before - sure is black! Bet it is gorgeous when it's polished.
but we had fun and i was glad hers didn't have a hook since she was whapping us in the heads every few seconds with that fish - kept reminding us what they're suppose to look like.
That is so funny! I have been giggling since I read it!

and im gonna try real soon to get my little boat in the water id like to get some fishing in i tried last year a couple times but i didnt last to long but i did get some fish so it was worth it
