Nice job Bill! A vibe huh? It looks like they shaped up good for not having done a 60/90 step.

Beautiful, Billy!
Chert/flint polishes up so beautifully! I have tumbled several loads of it and each time I have been thrilled with the results.

John, yep, it's basically the same stuff. The chert/flint where I live is Edwards Chert. We have tan, brown, black, grey, red - some banded, some not.
I love the stuff. It is really beautiful polished. Since it is so abundant here, I almost always have some in every batch I run. Have a whole dished filled with polished flint of all sizes, shapes and colors.
I don't have any arrowheads of it, but have seen some real beauties. And talk about sharp edges! I sliced my finger on a piece that I picked up one day. I can see why the Indians used it for their weapons and such.

Beautiful stuff! New Mexico is like heaven for rock finding -- I picked up some chert on a trip there, but yours is much more beautiful, with all the banding and stuff. Great Job!

Billy, that's how it is here. I could probably fill several barrels of it without going more than 50 feet from my front door. I have several pieces with swirles running through it. It is really pretty. I have also found several pieces with tiny crystal formations on them. They are rather large and rather than breaking them up for tumbling, I put them in my flowerbed. They sparkle in the sunlight. We don't have near the selection of neat rocks that NM and other areas have, but we do have tons of chert, so I will never be out of something to tumble. llana

I wish I had been more of a rock hound when I lived in Carlsbad, NM for 6 years, I would have a bunch to tumble now. Nicely done. Tami
