This is my first batch of rocks that I bought and of a different variety. Up til now I have done the flint and quartz I have found. So, I am really excited about getting these started in pre-polish. Got all sorts of stuff in this batch - sodalite, jasper, mook, green adventurine, bloodstone, agate and who knows what else! Most of the agates I got from Astrogallery, the green adventurine and jasper from Banjocreek, the bloodstone, mook, and sodalite from the local rock shop. If they polish up as pretty as my flint and quartz, I am gonna be one happy camper!

Llana, Now I can clearly see that I am not leaving my rocks in 80 long enough. I really don't know what they are supposed to look like but they need to be shaped alot more before I move them. Thanks for a before pictue (or mid way) for us newbies that don't know what we are looking at

Yes, Wiz, those are sodalite. I also cut some slabs. I love the sodalite. Hope it polishes well. I remember a discussion about it on the forum, I need to go read it before I put them in polish.
Cookie, I ran these for 7 days in 46/70 dry, then about 8 or 9 days in 60/90 wet, and in 120/220 for almost 2 weeks. Most of them I had trimmed the really rough stuff off of with the saw before tumbling them. That sure helps get them through the coarse stage faster.

Where did you get them?
I got the green adventurine and jasper from Banjocreek. The sodalite, bloodstone and imperial jasper and a few of the agates from our local rock shop. The rest came from Astrogallery. I ordered 30 lbs. of rough from there back in February. It was all fist size rock and I had to cut/bust it up small enough to tumble. I still have half a 5 gal bucket of all of the above left to cut either in slabs or tumbling pieces. I have a batch of some of the same stuff and some slabs getting ready to start in medium.

John, the green adventurine is really nice. Can't wait to see it polished. There's a few pieces of some other green stuff in this batch too. I don't know what it is. It came in the 30 lbs. of stuff I got from Astrogallery. It's a little lighter in color than the green adventurine. It might be green adventurine too, but it does look a bit different.

llana those are looking good now so after pre-polish and polish i can't wait to see. the whole batch is great.
i think the other green is green moss or green tree agate. i have some green tree agate and it has alot of white on it. the green moss is suppose to have more green than white.

You got some great shapes going on there, I see many what would work well for wrapping. Tami
