Nice long anneal Tela. On high end at 60 minutes at Spectrum glass specification of 30 to 60 minutes. With specified ramp down to and down and away. Can't have them cracking days/months later. Using a 5 step with 4 holds. So the kiln is following their curve too a tee. Excepting some changes to max temp/max temp hold for shaping under their consultation. Hoping the temp curve testing has ended. It is tricky. Sounds good. You are knowing your stuff. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Totally unknown territory Tela here. Figured it's best to read the instructions.

Being electrocuted is less aggravating than dripping faucet syndrome ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Fine line between what a man calls nagging and woman calls supportive encourageent You're doing mighty fine as is I'll drop the matter Oh I need/deserve any aggravation I get. I do want to blow glass but don't want to admit it(or tell it more accurately). I like the game ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) If I do it I can stick my chest out and strut like a rooster. As long as I don't have to show anyone the distorted badderoid I made. bladeroid - is that a word ? it did not spell check it ...may have blown the spell check fuse.

Such a man Whew, had me sweating there for a moment. Thought I may have had crossed a line. Back to angel mode. I need you to cross your fingers for a melt in process. Pleeeaaasse A cutting edge one, almost revolutionary. It should be done by sun up. I won't sleep well because of it.

I believe I just scored a huge break thru in glass fusing. Pulled a sample and Holy Cow ! Waiting till they cool. I got my idea from a seller on Etsy in Britain, a certain process she was performing to prep her pendants. I was studying her expensive glass pendants with average price of $40. Noticed she had unique/fine shapes to her glass. I simply copied her except with a couple of twists. More labor intensive but the results are looking scary impressive. Wish me safety, gotta go pick up and unload 17,000 pounds of steel today. Like 5 trips to the freight company. A record amount. Too old for this ha Still tumbling the thrift store vases along with some vomit, pulled these from coarse yesterday, wet ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4664/39728255045_ff6a9242ea_b.jpg) These are prior to the 'British' process. Stay tuned to what they look like tomorrow OMG. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4658/38783329890_6d02019a26_b.jpg)

Those are looking great. The new process should be interesting to see.

Those are looking great. The new process should be interesting to see. The top shelf was last night's test shelf. Finally cooled enough to pull them fernwood. I would not post fusions here but a lot of lapidary type grinding went into these. Girdle consistency looking good, but a bit rounded at basal area. Perhaps cut me some slack, all grinding/shaping done with the edge of a 40 grit tile saw blade. Edge scratches readily visible, got a flat lap in construction mode for finer grinding. This process a bit labor intensive, pay off good though. Glass was less than favorable as it was variable in thickness or too thick. Far from flat. Scratched. Dirty. Can likely command higher prices with these as they should compete with the pro fusers. Will say that the fuser community rarely sees patterns like these. Shapes would be fairly obtuse to them too. Can do most any shape desired. Got to work on the bubbles. Cooked 12 on the trial. Cooking 100+ today. Excited about the results. I cooked windows on the Italian millefiori (broken) shades. Did OK if less than 1.25 inch shard, bigger cracked. That particular Italian glass has a different expansion, no surprise. Very nice outcome on the smaller millefiori pendants. Probably the prettiest pendants so far. Bought the shades broke, no telling how much they would have cost new. Hate to advertise them as Murano works of art broken into pieces....would anger you glass collectors. Do you think I should market them as broken or purchased broken ? Or just not say ? ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4793/25764913277_d0f60349dd.jpg) Getting ready to refill tumblers, gotta chop these blown China mades and new Italians. 25 pounds ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4750/40593603332_1e0165bc63_c.jpg)

Definitely get the name Murano into your description. That way you will get views for people looking for Murano specifically.

It's the green thing to do. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Breaking down one art form and converting it to another art form still pinches my mind a bit. Repurposing trash or things useless to others is certainly good for all. In this case the glass was bought broken intentionally. But I could see someone buying fine vintage art of a limited supply and and repurposing it with opposition from others understandably. What if I converted a $1000/ 100 year old rare vase into $4000 worth of cabs ? Advertised as that rare vase. Like cutting up an original vintage 60's muscle car in fine shape and converting it to a street hotrod. Or sawing a one-of-a-kind specimen and sawing it into cabs lol. But a barely chipped vintage vase is pretty much looked at as garbage by glass collectors. That attitude says something about their respect for the artist's workmanship. Apparently mint condition supersedes the art factor. I stop by high end glass shops and ask for their nicks and chips. Funny looks, "we throw them away".

I don't see a problem with what you are doing. You are preserving the artists' work. Repurpose is a hot word right now and suits what you are doing.

Correction, this was 38 pounds of glass in the 2 clear trays 1st photo. In about 2 hours it will never cut another finger thanks to the tumbler. The second photo are mostly tumbled pieces that have had grinding attention or a visit to kiln. Total over 60 pounds. The clear trays full of not tumbled glass will experience 50 to 70% weight reduction from tumbling before being looked at for potential jewelry use. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4775/39927808164_e9a866a5b3_c.jpg) These are final shaped and ready for finishing operations in several forms. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4620/39742203525_4037ec784d_c.jpg)
