I had an interesting day out yesterday at a local rock swap/sale event. It isn't very often I have the chance to get some US/Mexico material from a vendor sell an old collection at reasonable prices. (I though were reasonable prices) Cost about what the postage to Australia would be not including the material prices. Not sure if they are good examples from the locations but I picked what I liked. Great to get my hands on some more material that I normally only can read about. Pryor Mountains- Powell Wyoming Sagenite - California Flower garden agate -Woodward ranch Cathedral agate -Mexico Black Plume -Texas Cathedral agate -Mexico Royal Purple Agate Mexico Graveyard Point Plume Maury Mountain Oregon Hells Canyon Agate Colo (where's thihs??) pic#2 left side is a Teepee Canyon Agate. The Sowbelly is from Creede, Colorado. The Royal Purple is Royal Purple Aztec Lace. There is a Royal Purple Lace too ( no Aztec) but rarer and different stuff. Next to last seems to say Ochoco Agate, Prineville, Ore. Last one looks like Chihuahua, Mexxico stuff to me, Maybe a Parcellas or a Casas Grande but it could be from elsewhere too.....Mel

Pic #3 is Sow Belly from Creede Colorado...it is an amethyst lace - amethyst mixed with agate. Originally overburden from a silver mine at that location so some Sow Belly has pieces of silver in it...nice slabs. Cheers

Very cool! I just have to imagine how happy I would be if I stumbled into a bunch of Aussie rocks. Love them!

There is a town called Agate in Colorado, along I70 east, maybe halfway between Denver and the Kansas border. I go past it often. I assume there is agate near there, with a name like that, but have never bothered to stop and look around. Perhaps I should. Very nice slabs!
