This is for Paul @hookedonrocks and also Sabre52. I got this from Paul. He has only seen one rock of it. He got 3 slabs and I have one. This is from the Morgan Hill area. So, Mel, I was wondering.... what do you think? Seen this before? I can tell it's related to morgan hill poppy by the background. It took a superb polish, but is like MHP in that it seems like the camera needs a polarizing filter for it. The red is blood red. It would probably be a better picture taken outside, but it's raining. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) I call dibs on the next one you want to part with, Paul! ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124428-6553a885.jpg) I got this from Randy Garage Rocker. Thank you, Randy! The picture does it no justice. It kinda looks blurry, but it's not. It took a liquid polish and is a fully saturated purple. This sucker was super hard! I went ahead and added a backing before I knew it was so hard because I have had some charoite that was impossible to work. Not so with this. It is destined to be a knock out pendant. ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124430-46d552b2.jpg) A little piece of covellite I picked up. Got two preforms from it. I couldn't get the pink to show. ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124435-977c26e2.jpg) The camera reflection is on the bottom of the cab in the pic above. I hit some pyrite in the girdle so the shape is a little off, but it will still make a nice pendant. ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124440-23bb8404.jpg) I got a big slab of pink dino bone. This is the first cab of it. I wanted to leave some of the black from the side of the slab for contrast. ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124432-72cd7394.jpg) I finally cut some preforms of some of my better OJ. I was having withdrawals. ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124425-68526ee1.jpg) And this is peanut obsidian from meviva Thank You! ![](http://www.rockshow.rocktumblinghobby.com/upload/2018/02/26/20180226124438-7e0ba310.jpg) Thanks for looking!

Those are stunning Tela!! That covellite is AMAZING!! You should have seen the mess it made. Whenever I cab covellite, tiger iron or marcasite I always do those last. Covellite is so soft that it left my 50K wheel dark. All my wheels are black. I had to scrub my nails real good!

Love the covellite!!!
I figure it is always best to do cabs with metal in them last. Everything is black, including me.

Yes. With covellite and silver in cobaltite, it is so soft, super shiny and reflective that I go real slow. In general, the softer it is, the slower I go. I can burn through an agate, but I'm very careful with the soft stuff. Plus, it's hard to see what your doing with the metals.

You're right, a bunch of cool materials today! Glad that slab worked out for you. Would have been a shame to just chuck it in the tumbler. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I was really happy how the color popped when polished. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

But, you need to go slow in the beginning.

Always inspiring (and sort of humbling!) to see your work. I really like the first one, the material from @hookedonrocks...that's amazing.

rockjunquie - Once again you've shown us some wonderful eye candy. I love the Morgan Hill, the Dino Bone, OJ, Peanut Obsidian. I'm sure I'd like the Covelite more if it wasn't so pitted. I suppose the camera shows the flaws more than I would see in person. I love that you always have such high-end stones. No driveway gravel from Tela! Lynn

Yes, in person, the pits don't show as much. I thought about filling them, but sometimes ya just get what ya get. I could have ground it down to nothing and those pits would have still be there. This is the pittiest that I've ever had, but I didn't give much for it, so I'm happy.
