On the subject of Göbekli Tepe: Is it possible that the structures were built before the fragmented comet strike that some on the fringe believe nearly wiped out previous advanced cultures and led to the worldwide flood stories? Could explain why there is no sign of a nearby settlement.

very cool!
I always wondered why Herodotus Never mentioned Göbekli Tepe? He was from that area Perhaps he did ? I never read him that closely
He never mentioned the Sphinx also Supposedly he was measuring the Pyramids It seems like the Sphinx would be a hard thing to overlook Perhaps it was covered by sand?
I going to travel back-- as soon as I move forward either way gotta roll Mohs

It seems like the Sphinx would be a hard thing to overlook Perhaps it was covered by sand? You got it right. The Sphinx sits down in a big hole and would quickly get buried if not swept out regularly. It was originally approached through a temple that's long since gone except for foundations. A big stele/plaque is between the paws, placed there by Thutmose IV around 1400 bc and recording how he came across the head peaking out from the sand that had buried it for centuries. Thutmose dug it out and restored the temple.

Had to pause the video to comment on the Sumerian writing. The Sumerians claimed to have come from somewhere else and their culture seems to arrived fully developed. Possibly survivors of the comet impact/flood?
And a comment on the stone couldn't have carved without power tools: My hometown is loaded with stone architecture with intricate carving that was done long before power tools were used. Although metal tools were used.

A point I was trying to make in a previous thread many early inhabitants of these collectives must have had a sudden flash of new consciousness like they woke up from some million year dream Imagine! All of sudden there are great edifices, canals, planted fields of grain, domesticated animals, pottery, forges, a whole hive of buzzing Where did all this come from? Because I don’t believe it was planned In any sort of consensus One moment were unaware of history the next moment --- its all history Something like that …mostly I mean… I don’t think some guys got together & said: ‘Ya know,, For million of years we been humping our rumps across the tundra for mile after mile The only good thing that occurred was when that dude made beer and we discovered fire That was a party Boys! So why don’t we decide to settle down? Plants some corn, put up some stone houses w/ a chimney and white picket fences, make beer, bbq’s & babies ! Now that we know how that happens’ O on the birds & the bees/ I think it took a long time for our ancestors to figure out how that does actually happen before it was all just-- something that happened maybe it had something to do with the moon? mohs

Ya know its all interesting Dave
I was doing some reading about Kepler He was a brilliant fellow Comin up with the ellipses idea
But his work is laden with astrology the whole reason for trying to figure out more precisely the heavens Was to be able to better predict astrological forecasts
Now the man was brilliant So I have to ask myself Did he do that covertly?
Because he was employed as court Astrologer by King Rudolf of Austria
might have been done for job security
yet- I think- he gave up on Copernicus heliocentric idea o and just improved on Ptolemy idea of circles so he gets one part right and reverts back to another wrong idea its all so strange how the mind play tricks
and there a theory that he murdered Brahe because he wanted his observational data which Brahe wouldn't give up
there is a consensus that Brahe died at the kitchen table cause he was to suborn to get & go pee bladder exploded!
but some natural poison may have been concocted...

Did astrology lead to astronomy or did astronomy lead to astrology? That is a good question Bill! In all my studies the esoteric ideal of man have led to our hard sciences I can’t deny it Astronomy out of astrology Chemistry out of alchemy even logic as a mystical premise As proposed by Parmendies And I just read a killer account if how the free market was narrowly interpreted from the Enlightenment via theological doctrine So how to explain it ? I guess the magic of imagination leads to material hardrock … Best I can come up with,,,mostly -------------------------------------- Here’s what I understand about astrology After reading about Kepler & his times and such Obviously mankind as been amazed by the sky, stars ,heavens Ever since they came on the scene For a bunch of reasons Just imagine the night sky after being out on the tundra Fighting for existence. That pretty amazing up there Plus everything has got to have a purpose It must mean something! The moon showing up every so often you can almost read it like a book and that what happened I mean... just how do you explain menstruation & the cycle of the moon? Mathematics ! further proof ! so study, reason, calculate, forecast, power ! and it went on for generations & generations systemtic thought maybe all for naught but others wondered what are the exact mechanics of this sky ? enter Ptolemy cause with better mechanics- you make better forecasts! More power! But forecasting and reasoning starting splitting in 2 Around 1542 More on that situation later…mostly

that vid looks really intense dave i'll have to watch it although I'm presently concerned that Phoenix as bitoff more than it can chew in the downtown area right where I live uggghhh! they have constructed over 10,000 apartment units it cause increased traffic & store hassles well you can imagine Phoenix as always boomed mostly out bound -urban sprawl which was fugly enough now its going up so it very possible that we may get boomed back to the hohokam days tread lightly- is good advice

That vid is intense
But like many of the all-wise comments on you tube rants... its all the sky is falling rhetoric Were humans --we rule-- we can do anything!
So let the doomsayers go to outer space
And what happen to Anasazai ? Strang mystery, indeed ...

He never mentioned the Sphinx also Supposedly he was measuring the Pyramids It seems like the Sphinx would be a hard thing to overlook Perhaps it was covered by sand? That reminds me of a bit of Sphinxian doggerel: Here's to the camels libido And here's to the thoughts that he thinks; As he stands on the banks of the Nile And tries to make love to the Sphinx. But the Sphinx's posterior portions Are sunk in the sands of the Nile Which accounts for the hump on the camel's back And the Sphinx's mysterious smile.
