Hi,
I am a total newb when it comes to tumbling. It is a hobby that me and my 9 year old daughter have taken up together. So far we have been successful at the actual tumbling part.... but the polishing stage continues to delude us completely. We just don’t seem to be able to get any kind of sheen.
Anyway... this is me. Lovely to meet you all. Dawn

to RTH Forum dawne1979 from ~Duke in SW Michigan Dawn what kind of equipment are you using and what stages have you done thus far. These questions will be asked by anyone helping so anyone that may get to you before I read your response is fine. The main thing is that you get the help and your questions answered. Welcome aboard ~Duke

Hello from Michigan! As Duke pointed out, with some more details, we should be able to help you out.
What kind of tumbler? What size barrel? What kind of rocks are you attempting to tumble? What did you do for each stage? How long, what type of grit (aluminum oxide? Silicon carbide?), grit size (120/220, 500), how much water, any media (plastic beads or ceramic) any other additives? How did you clean the rocks before stages?
Pictures of your finished but not shiny rocks would be helpful too.

That was/is always the hardest step for me too - I don't know how these guys make it look so easy
