I live in a region in Australia that has many rhodonite- manganese deposits, we have some of the most bright red massive rhodonite on the planet, I fossic regularly in my region, recently I found a bright orange version, I have seen orange before but not as brigt as this, it may be a type of orange garnet, the dark maroon red is jasper,

That is beautiful material. I am attracted to rhodonite. The addition of the salmon and red colors give an added wow factor. The last photo appears to show some flash, or is it a reflection? The shape of the cab and how the complexity of the rough specimen was captured is very special.
Thanks for sharing.

As I believe you know (based on my recollection of your previous posts), rhodonite and yellow-to-orange spessartine garnet are often found in association. This specimen appears to be a very fine and colorful example of that type of occurrence.
I have a cab cut from a nice rhodonite/spessartine mix from Italy but the color isn't nearly as rich as yours. Thanks for posting these images.

Ahhh to Rockhound in Australia What a beautiful find and Cab! When I finally stop smoking and sure not to freak out on that long plane ride, I’m so going!
