I found this one in my yard with just landscaping rocks about two years ago. I posted a pic back then, and then the conclusion was that it didn't look like bone. Being too ignorant and stubborn to give up, I put it away, but recently, having gotten a new phone with a better camera, took my saw to it and then polished up a chunk, and I am now fairly positive that it is dino bone. Interested in thoughts... The pictures still leave something to be desired, but I think they show the detail much better.

sorry but I would have to say definitely not. I suspect those clear rectangular shapes are one of the feldspars, the host rock may be feldspar also possibly making it part of a pegmatite which is what I am leaning toward.

Would need clearer photos, especially of the interior. Agree the interior flecks look like feldspar.

Pictures are still hard to make out. Those rectangular inclusions look like crystals. I say not Dino Bone. Lynn

I had something similar looking, same outer appearance, which was ID's as Schist. Try looking at photos of pet bone to see the cell structure and compare that t what you have. Please post clearer photos for ID suggestions here.

Once I had a rock I thought was gneiss... but it was just a piece of schist.

this is an example of a graphic granite pegmatite structure, does it look the same?

I don't see the cell structure for dino or wood. Black could be hornblende.

Hmm, I see how those dark things are more crystalline than cellular in structure, if I'm making any sense.
