Okay folks, prepared to be jealous ' cause here's pics of our beautiful rocks we got at the rock shop yesterday. The rock of the left is the one I put back and Barbara picked up. I could kick myself for that! Oh well! Don't know what the one on the right is, but it's nice one! The lady at the rock shop said the middle one wasn't mook, but sure looks like mook to us. B's sodalite I found these in the mixed agate bin, so guess they are agates! Don't care what they are, I think they are pretty and they only cost 50 cents a pound! Another one from the mixed agate bin. Talk about color! Purple imperal jasper middle top, my new favorite, parrot wing on the sides and unakite in the middle. B's mixed agate finds and picture rock My leopard skin jasper, rainbow obsidian and pet. palm wood These slabs we got from a friend of ours. Got more that we didn't take pics of. John and Cookie, here are some chunks of flint we have. Do you want a whole chunk or smaller pieces?

Oh, this stuff is so beautiful. This makes mining the backyard much less appealing.

Yes, we did! And proud of it! ;D I doubt I would have ever spent $15.00/lb on the parrot wing, but $7.50 - that's a different story! I can't wait to see that finished. Don't know a thing about it though except it's softer than any of the stuff I have been doing, so I will do it by itself. Can't find any info Goggling "parrot wing" nor do my rock and mineral books have anything on it.
We are planning on going back. The sale doesn't end until August. Neither one of us need more rocks, but just can't pass up a half price sale! ;D

Hey LZ, you did a great job on the pics. Thanks!
The rock on the right in the 1st pic was in the 'picture rock' bin. That's the one that had no breaks or cuts so practically none of the color showed up until I cut it. I had to have just one that no one had seen inside of before! ;D I'm really happy with it!
Speaking of picture rock....does anyone know the hardness of it on the MOH's scale? Also of bloodstone? I can't find either of those in my Simon & Schuster's Guide to Rocks and Minerals.

I actually gasped when I saw the pictures. Who ever heard of paying .50 a pound for anything unless you bought it by the yard. Incredible. Guess I need to get in the river and start pulling out some rutillated quartz before all the good stuff gets traded away. Right after inventory I have 2 days off. Housework be d**ned! cookie P.S. Slabs please. Easier to break

You two had better be careful posting those pics of all those beautiful rocks you picked up. If your not careful you wont have time to do anything with them because you will be spending all your time at the UPS store shipping off rocks to all of us who live to damn far away to visit in person!!
