Finally was able to drive through the counter top/tile facility near me. Snow had melted enough. Was not disappointed. Photo overload here. First one reminds me of Petoskey Stone or a coral fossil. One behind it has dendrites in it. Will be stopping by next week to find out how these were made, as I do not thing any corals that large could be found. Hoping they prove me wrong. coral-dend Next photos are a few examples of counter slabs. count 1 count 2 This one reminds me of picture jasper. count 3 count 4 count 6 Kind of looks like Bloodstone with inclusions. count 5 Can see why these were all sold. counts 2 counts 1 10% of the scrap pile, maybe less than that, as there were also 2 dumpsters full. scrap 1 Hope to finally go there and talk with them about my kitchen counter dreams and see what happens to the scrap. Will come prepared with gloves and appropriate boots, in case they will let me go through the pile. Thanks for looking.
