Sorry for the bad cell phone pictures, but hopefully everyone can see well enough to follow the tutorial. This is the scalloped bezel wire that I use. Cut a section of 11 or 13 scallops for each rose you want to make. I used 13 for this and my earrings. Cut back about half way in each valley between the scallops. Using round nose pliers begin to roll the strip. The picture shows the nose of the pliers in the center of the silver. But I found that tighter centers look better. So rather than putting pliers in the center and then rolling, bend the first petal and roll around it. This is what the bottom of the roll should look like when it is all rolled up. Using a thin blade and the round nose pliers, start pulling the petals down and out. This was the first one I made with the larger center. I forgot to take a picture of this step with the second rose that has the tighter center. Keep adjusting each petal until you are satisfied with how it looks. Dip in LOS and use how you like. Thanks for looking! Ann Tommy, Ann, can we get the pictures back?

Hope Tapatalk isn't going to to start dumping photos Weirdly the photos have a Facebook domain. Well you could upload the photos to a 3rd party like Cloudinary or Flickr and go in and edit the post with the new locations. I can help with this if you want to email them to me and I can plunk them down on our domain and send you the links - or edit the post for you if I could figure out which photo went in what order

About fire scale - I introduced Jay Bown's discoveries on forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/74360/sandcasting-jb?page=1Back in the 70's he experimented with sand casting and discovered using Garnet Sand reduced fire scale. He then began making "Garnet Blocks" - 3 parts garnet sand + 1 part clay - in two shapes * a 3" tall cylinder (in the hand below)and a 6" disk (under the flame in the drawing), and selling them at rock shows around the western states for doing fabrication work and combination casting/fabrication. Mix the clay into a slurry then add the sand. pour into a mold and let dry. You can carve a design into the face, melt silver on top. use the cylinder to flatten the molten silver, remove when cool. Wet the surface and move it flat again.

These were hosted through Facebook. The pictures are all still there, I wonder why the links broke?

Tommy, you're right. These were hosted through Facebook. The pictures are all still there, I wonder why the links broke? Facebook doesn't even play nice with 3rd party photo hosting. When I open the broken link in a new tab I get the message "URL signature expired."
