Hello all, I am new to this forum and new to rock tumbling. I have my first batch in now. I would like to suggest posting before and after pictures so that us newbies know what to look for on our hunts. So far my rocks are Northern California finds.

Very nice results Deb! Great quality of material and great shine. Well Done!
I do not get out much and must rely on retailers for my rough material (mainly The Rock Shed in South Dakota), so I will not be a good resource in determining what to look for in the field. Sorry. I DO know what a good tumble looks like... and I like your first go.

Thanks Glenn! This was actually shine from water as this is 4 days after starting stage 1. Because they were already so smooth, I started stage 2. ( I don't know if I will ever have the patience for bigger rough rocks!) I may go to polishing tomorrow because they are changing and have lost some of why I picked them up.
