I'm not really interested in using muriatic acid. I'm just about done cleaning pet wood from Dobell's. I ended up getting some extra strong vinegar (30%), dilluting that a bit, and letting the stuff soak. Seems to be doing OK.

I've used vinegar and weak muriatic pool acid in the past. Just soak it and scrub it now as I don't care if it's not totally clean. Most the George West stuff is loose caliche mud that has covered the wood and scrubs right off....Mel

Great finds I really like the first 2. Can't wait to see a couple slabs.

I'm a jerk. I'd use full strength pool acid in a bucket. The rocks in a bucket with a million holes drilled. When clean I would transfer the rock bucket to another bucket full of washing soda solution.
This must be done outside. Stand upwind. Wear glasses. Have a hose running. I do it on my sloped driveway. The acid cleans the concrete... Lol
On the other hand, of it's simply rumble stones, then the tumbler cleans them up real good, real fast, for zero work.
Pics or it didn't happen

Pics or it didn't happen I just used 30% vinegar diluted with 6% from Walmart. It worked out well. Since vinegar is a food product, I didn't mind putting it down the drain. Rock sediment in the mix was poured elsewhere.
