Yep. Mineral oil will emulsify and wash away many time easier than pork or chicken fat. Doesn't hurt anything.

Now, having said that, I own the dishwasher and I am NOT giving you permission to do the same with your wife's dishwasher.

I use the dishwasher to wash all sorts of stuff. Works great for baseball caps, even have the shape frame for those.
Some rocks/slabs are much cleaner than certain cookware after use.

I've used the dishwasher to clean slabs and crystal specimens for years. Works like a charm as long as you don't allow little rock particles to clog the filter. Hand wash first to get rid of debris.
