You might be a newbie but you did not start with newbie material. Labradorite is really difficult and amazonite is not super easy either. They both look pretty darn good.

I just realized that I should have posted the pics in the photo section. Sorry about that. I was so excited at finally figuring out how to do it that I completely forgot about the photo section. I beg your forgiveness.

Both are exceptional for the first tumble... or the 45th tumble for that mater. You even caught some of the "Labraborescence" in the pic! Well done!

I feel like if I had ground them on a wheel I could have removed a lot of the flaws, but I kinda like my rocks to retain some of their character and not all look like creek pebbles. Yes, by not having any background in geology, I chose rocks to tumble by how unique or neat I think they'll look after tumbling. Unfortunately, they often turn out to be "difficult". That's alright. I'll just keep just chugging along and hopefully learn something along the way. This forum has been so helpful. I can always find ideas or solutions when I ask.

Not to mention........ the use of an unconventional vibe........lol

Actually, both of these were done in a rotary only. I didn't get my vibe until recently. I'm finishing up my first "vibe" batch in the next day or two.

well, I hate to admit it, but the batch that's fixin to come out of the vibe is serpentinite, another "difficult" rock. It's actually got a better shine than I expected, but nobody will mistake it for an agate or jasper. It's almost like trying to shine a ball of baby powder .
