Does rockjunquie remember how she made the bubbles in tinker bell ? That particular color has bubbles in it. There are a couple like that. In person it has some sparkle to it. Great memory. so many variations of glass. I have so much scrap glass Tela. I can melt so much and generate a lot of slab stock. Had I not been given the scrap it would cost a lot as fuse glass is not cheap. Finally opened an Etsy shop, must build it from ground up. Hope to get some pieces up in a week or two. By the way I am setting up a 90 degree fence that will drop into the flat lap that will allow grinding flat edges before tumble. These done by hand roughly and at exact 90 and early in tumble shaping, so can be improved. Will these be easier to wrap, they are near final shape and 5mm thick ?:

Can't wait to see them fly off the shelves.

BTW- those pictures with dates on them are wrong. I added the dates later. All of my own glass work was done around 2000-2005.

Tela, I stumbled upon your glass work beads & WOW how impressive they are. Nothing what I think of as lamp worked beads (which I usually don't like).
Very creative, very beautiful.
You are one talented lady !

Thank you!! I hated to give up glassblowing/lampworking, but my back couldn't do it anymore.

Seriously I really want to know.

I have psoriatic arthritis in my lower back. Sitting doing benchwork with arms constantly at shoulder height is murder. You have to keep the glass in the flame.

Sounds painful Tela, sorry for that.
It made me curious as I thought that glass work was a sitting or possibly a standing thing, not a crouching one.
But I hadn't factored it all in, obviously.
They sure were nice when you did make them

Tela, just seeing these and they are amazing! I've not worked with glass but it doesn't take a trained eye to appreciate the detail and creativity in each one--and each very different. My only regret is that I am not familiar with this craft, since I suspect I would see much, much more of the work and skill that went into them. My favorite one is whichever photo I am looking at . . .

Well, you can blush if you want, as long as it's blushing with pride.

I'm glad this got bumped up!! I looked at the thread the other day and pictures wouldn't load...so I was wondering how/why everyone was making comments. Today, I got to see the pictures! Wowzer Tela. There are some people who are so amazingly artistic in whatever endeavor they're involved with...and Tela, you're one of those people! You really did put out some amazingly well-crafted pieces!!

I wish I were good at everything I've tried. I can't touch type- despite several bona fide classes. My brain just doesn't work that way. But, most of the major things I have tried, I've been OK at. Wish I had pictures of some of my crewel embroidery. I used to design my own. I don't have any pictures of any of the car restorations and work I've done, either. Auto body and paint work was my funnest job. I got pretty good at glass work because I did so much of it. Towards the end of my tenure with my job, I repaired broken sculptures- which I must confess was very difficult.

I remember your impressive glass working skills Tela. This thread told the story ! Working glass to this level is on another level. Some just have a knack for art. Rarely in various and diverse forms that you have explored. Glad this thread was revived.
