Ok, I'm just a tad impatient. I've been running loads of Jasper (with a mix of stuff) and Amethyst for months now, and the shine is not my best. But for the sake of moving on to better things, I'm yanking these out of the polish so's I can be done with them. Am I the only one who ever did anything like that? So here is a couple of pics of the Jaspers I found up in Bagdad, and it is the last I am going to tumblr for a while, since I have a whole coffee can of it polished. And the Amythist, I just wanted to get nice enough so I could begin a project with my Lap-Lap (Thanks Don, a new obssession). So being in the spirit of this being Member Photographs, here ya go. Thanks

Those look pretty darn good to me Banjo! I love that Amethyst. Gonna have to get me some one of these days. I have been trying to get enough of the jasper you sent me cut up to start a load in a 3# barrel. I think I have a few pieces of it somewhere in the mongrel batches I have done, but I want to do a batch of just the jasper the shoot for a "James shine". llana

I got the amethist from The Rock Shed. It is really big pieces of Brazilian Amethyst. I think if you don't mind paying a little more Kingsley North has a more purple Australian Amethyist, which I will try next time.

Looks great! I just love amethyst. I'm working on a batch myself right now, but it seems to be taking FOREVER....this is a patience-demanding hobby, which goes against my basic nature. Oh well, your pics inspire me to continue to be patient.

Those are very pretty. Your amethysts have better surfaces than mine have had, they have been spalling and cracking and stuff. The variety of colors in the jasper is just great and it looks like it has a nice polish. I wish I could take that batch and toss it in my Raytech vibe for 12 hrs of polish; I've been getting great finishes on rock much like that. Jasper is the greatest.

Nice job Banjo! I think photobucket is having some technical difficulties though. Nice cutout too.

Hey Banjo. Great looking stones, excellent shine. The Amythest did come out really nice-no cracks and looks like they started out without any matrix. I bought some from Frank's Mine Tours, and the matrix goes thru the entire stone. I'll try Kingsley's next time. Great job. Now get faceting, You got some great stones to work with and we all want to see your handywork.
