Half a million is $500,000, right? I'd be lucky if I have $500 worth of rocks. Can I stop by sometime if I'm in the area? I'm not planning to expand my collection, I'd just like to see yours.

Half a million is $500,000, right? Yes sir. I can't begin to explain what is here. It is kinda impressive... Silly how I get when I do something or become interested in something. You should have seen my coin collection when I went through that phase before I found rocks. *snort* Stop by anytime. I don't need days notice from you, but I'm not dusting!

How long you been working on the rock collection? I am like Rob. I keep just enough rough rock to work on. Not much backlog at all and I have more polished/finished rocks then rough. Pudding stone is my only exception and most of that stays in the rock garden at the cottage.
There is a guy local to me that has a lapidary garage sale every summer just to thin out and make room for more. I went last year and it was jammed with people. I know him really well because he is a vendor at shows and he is my Fordite source. He says he sells more rocks and lapidary stuff at the garage sale in a weekend then he does at a rock show.

Let's see.......+$500,000.00 @ $10.00 per pound = 50,000 pounds or 25 tons.........That's a lot of hobby there.....just how long did it take to accumulate that much material.......that's more than an estate, it's a mining operation.....

Did you troll that guy? LOL! Seriously, after reading your email, he must have felt how you did when you heard abt that yard sale where you picked up so much. He's probably bursting at the seam to buy you out.

Bob, Plainly you do not have enough rocks yet *L*. No wonder hurricanes don't bother your house. The rocks obviously hold it down...Mel

He replied with a very cordial email that took extensive scrolling and about 20 minutes to read. I need to get back to him when I have time to send a lengthy reply. Bonus is he didn't care about pictures. I hate taking pictures!
Imagine he will be coming for a visit sometime, but get the feeling that he still works so his schedule may dictate when that might be. I'm in no hurry as such a visit would require cleaning the garage some.
