Hey everyone! Tom here from Colorado. I am a geologist that enjoys all things rock! I am an amateur lapidary artist that works with cabochons, flat vibe laps, and getting in to tumbling as of recent. I also do the odd faceting project here and there. In my spare time- if/when that happens- I am in the Rocky Mountains rockhounding, prospecting, exploring, or working with rocks in my workshop. I love working with stone of all different types and I'm always trying to polish that rock that nobody else would polish (Pike's Peak granite cabochon? I would and have done this!).
I just found this forum about 30 minutes ago while trying to find some info on an early-90's Raytech slab saw. I have been reading everyone's posts for the past half hour and decided I needed to join in!
I am always more than willing to help anybody with questions about rocks, lapidary equipment, geology, etc. I usually learn something when I'm trying to help another- let's learn together!

Welcome from Southern CA. I saw your inquiry about your saw in a somewhat related old thread. You may want to pose your questions about the saw in the Lapidary Equipment section where it may get more exposure. There are lots of knowledgeable folks there. I'm not one of them.

Good evening and welcome to the forum from North Carolina. It'll be nice to question someone who knows rocks, because I know very little other than I enjoy polishing them.
