After what seems like months, I'm finally getting back to the machine to do some work in stone. Just got started on my intended project for the month, a combo of 6 different pieces to be combined into a concept piece/pendant. Started the easy ones first, Mexican Fire Agate bug, and some teeth out of Orrums US Moonstone. April projects by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Biggest challenge will likely be to realize a small scorpion out of Dino Bone.... In the meantime, finished up an Ugly Duckling leftover. At least now it can be used as pendant. April projects Mexican Fire Agate by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Overcast rainy conditions, so colours are better at hand..... Moonstone teeth? LOL. I knew you could get that moonstone to work!!! Why not, might not be as strong as sheen can be, but proves to be versatile for its colour in general. The elephant tusks are holding up well now too. Had been wearing the elephant 24/7 on several occasions without any problems.

That snake polished beautifully! With all those pieces, I can't even imagine what you will be doing. Definitely have to watch this thread.

Todays piece gives an idea whats coming up. pplips 1 by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Inner part of the lip is not curved enough to realistically show teeth. So sand what I got, and then change curvature tomorrow.

I like that "ugly duckling" one. Will make a cool pendant.

I'm not familiar with all of the Stones' album covers, but I see the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and possibly Kiss in what you've done so far. Very interesting. I really like how you're using a variety of materials in this.

The workmanship is amazing as always Holy Moly, you never let us down on your craftsmanship Kurt!!! Not yet. The difficult parts are yet to come. The scorpion will be rather small, and Dino bone is not known to hold up very well when worked to thin shapes. The intended centipede needs curvature that I'm anything but sure, if I can manage. Still pondering material. Thinking it needs to be in some screaming colour.
