I cannot get out of my house until someone is nice and shovels the 2' (or more) of snow blocking all my doors. In the mean time, all I can do is look out windows. Took this photo a little while ago. Will be making an album with all the photos eventually. I took before photos on Friday, more on Saturday and after the wind dies down I will go outside and take more. The top missing from this tree was about 8-10' in size. Photo does not capture the constant wind blowing snow down the road.

And i thought I was the only one stuck in winter. lol Historic stretch of cold achieved for major Albertan city and still counting. Saturday, April 14, 2018, 4:44 PM - Some records weren't meant to be broken and this, is definitely one of them. The city of Edmonton, Alta., has become the (un)lucky winner of an historic stretch of cold weather. We're talking nearly SIX months of overnight lows below freezing. Although a prolonged period of frigid conditions and even some of the coldest temperature anomalies worldwide have dominated the Alberta pattern recently, the ridiculous stretch of cold weather in Edmonton is jaw dropping. Saturday, April 14 marks the 168TH CONSECUTIVE DAY of overnight lows below freezing as recorded at Edmonton-Blatchford Airport. This puts the area in first place for the longest run of consecutive days with a minimum temperature below 0°C, ahead of the 166 day stretch in 1975. www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/historic-stretch-of-cold-weather-achieved-in-edmonton-alberta-below-seasonal-conditions-continue/99294

Here is the in progress photo album. Was able to survey damage while winds died down a little. Front door bent and latch broken. Snow blowing in front hall. Truck Topper back window blown off hinges to who knows where. Horses ate all of the three days of hay I gave them in their shelter. Were at the reserve supply I threw on South side of main barn. I gotta figure out a way to get my front door open to get to barn to give them more hay. After I get to barn, need to figure out a way to shovel over 4' of ice/snow that is blocking the exit to get to their shelter. I am at a loss, as I cannot open the door to shovel due to the ice/snow. I cannot walk around the side of the barn, cut the electric tape fence to gain access to pasture where this door is. Even if I could, still under medical restrictions and cannot chip/shovel for the hours it would take to clear. More ice expected today along with more snow. So, guess I will just have to put more hay next to main barn and hope for the best. Will be dragging shovel to main barn doors, just in case they are drifted shut. Sorry to hear about all the snow. Wish I was in the area to help. I live North of the Twin Cities and we got 10-12 inches last night. Was very windy but didn't find any damage from it. Good thing is it sounds like a few days of warmer weather coming but I am sure that will mean flooding in some areas........................MrP

Seems like the main storm went South of you, MrP I have friends stranded in the Cities right now. Where I live, it is very windy, which does not help matters. White out now, after a couple hours with no snow. This too shall pas, but yes, then the flooding will come. My barn flooded last week and now there are at least 2" of ice on most of the floor.

Looks like a good dumping of snow for one day. North of 60 they dont build doors or windows facing north just for that reason. Another storm settling in tonight, expecting more snow the next couple of days on top of the fresh stuff we got on friday.

Lower Peninsula of Michigan here..... we got ice. Been on the generator since Friday night, no word on restoration yet. We also lost a lot of trees, luckily nothing damaged. Ran out to take these yesterday morning. Frozen in time

radsBeautiful photo, but I doubt the flowers appreciate the ice. It just might save them from dieing. Stay safe and warm. Glad you have a generator.

Thanks. We have enough that haven't bloomed yet to worry about a couple daffy's. Right now, it is raining down all the ice from the trees as it warms up. The power just came back on...Thank you to all the linemen who work in this kind of weather conditions, the crews have been going since Friday night. (I worked for the local utility company for 30 years) They are the unsung heroes in the storm, much respect.

I hate snow. I am so glad I live in Vegas right now. We have been in the 80s, close to 90. I can actually go out and look for rocks.
