Please, no more stroking; just tumbling. Look forward to hearing more of your lapidary history (with pictures). Best.

Rocks are therapy. At least I feel better when I come in from the shop. Rock grinding builds coordination, stimulates the mind, and excites the spirit. Tumbling expands the imagination and the person with the most tumblers running wins. You are definitely in the running. Onward and best wishes.

Back to RTH Forum As I in does tries! from ~Duke in SW Michigan Well brother of THE STROKE I have been recovering myself since I had my second stroke a year ago, (The first stroke due to unhealthy living from smoking, drinking, eating the wrong things, I quit in 2009 and haven't looked back). Last year July 13th I laid in the Hospital 26 days and was in therapy for the next 4 months. Part of the recovery was this newn hobby Rockhounding as we live 25 miles from Lake Michigan my Wife and I have made many trips there and walking the beach has helped. My recovery has been ok I guess its been slow, It has gave me a whole bunch of new friends on here and many have taught me so much I appreciate all of you. However the STROKE has left me with a Non-Curable condition known as CPS>>>> www.healthline.com/health/pain-relief-central-pain-syndrome What Caused My Stroke?? It was nothing I did, A Chiropractor adjusted my neck because I was having lower back pain. He separated an artery in my neck it formed a blood clot and went right to my brain! Thanks Doc... I needed that. Shoulda had my head examined! So what do I do next? Well it has given me plenty of time to think. I am stuck in a body that doesn't work nearly as good as it used too. I just retired 3 years ago and I can tell you this, this was no where in my plans to have to recover from a stroke in Retirement. Many things a person can do at this point, I would say the best thing I could do is what this ROCKHOUND Andy said is Get Busy Living.... or Get Busy Dying! I choose the first. Anyway prayers sent I can honestly say I know how you feel. God Bless for a full recovery my Bother! ~Duke

Yikes I am so sorry this happened to you!
My mother has her neck manipulated many times a week and I’ve been trying to convince her to stop for this reason: vertebral artery dissection.
I’ve seen over 10 in my 4 year career already.

I’ve seen over 10 in my 4 year career already. Thanks, I pray your mother wakes up before it is too Late, and something terrible happens. I remember a neurologist at the hospital came in my room after I had the stroke and said I heard you been to a Chiropractor? I said yes. He asked what were you going to him for? I said lower back pain. He asked did he adjust your neck? I said yes. He then asked why did he adjust your neck when the problem was in your lower back? I said heck if I know maybe he was trying to give me the FULL MONTY! He said let this be a lesson to you, those guys can't see what they are doing many many people end up in here from the same thing you have. saxplayer what do you do? ~Duke

I've taken care of several patients like yourself who had vertebral artery dissection from chiropractors. It's really unfortunate. I'm glad you recovered pretty well!
