DescriptionLot #4 is for a medium flat rate box stuffed with SMALL pieces of miscellaneous tumbling rough. Size reference photo shown below. Approximate total weight is 20-25 lbs. These pieces of misc. tumbling rough vary from agate to jasper to other materials. I have done my best to sort by approximate hardness and remove any pieces that will probably disappear if tumbled with agates and jaspers. Auction TermsMinimum Bid: $10 Bid Increments: $2 Added Freight: $14 Payment: Paypal only Auction Start: immediately Auction Close: around 7pm PDT, Monday April 30th (when I post "closed") Photos

It seems as though 3 members plan on splitting all 20 lots between them, so I won,t continue to muddy up the process. Happy tumbling!

As i see it, the idea is to raise money to keep the site up and running, bid them up and help the site! check out 13, it has 4 different bidders, have a go at it, it has some good material in it. Have fun!

Have fun! I am well aware of the concept of an auction, and I hope the site raises a ton of money because I really enjoy the forum. My only point was that, even if I could afford every lot on here, I wouldn't run the bid up on all of them out of consideration of the other members. I'm not offended, just know when to fold.

Gotta agree with you here. I'm totally bidding on several lots to help "raise money" by raising the price a bit. However I'd like to get one of these lots, but it seems the same person or two are bidding on most the lots that are likely to be the most wanted. I see it as a fairness issue - if I win a lot I'm done bidding on the others to give others a chance. Just my $0.02 and it isn't worth that much.

I just knew better than to bid on numerous lots because, knowing my luck, I'd win them and not be able to afford them. I bid on the one I most wanted out of the bunch, but I can't afford to go head-to-head with someone bidding on 5 or 6 lots. Chances are, they have more disposable income than I do. Good luck on your bid(s).

Good luck on your bid(s). Ya....I was tempted (as if I don't have material to work with...lol..)
Just an observation.......I've only been here a few months, so take as a grain of salt.........the last two bid rounds (consolidated and raised) were from folks I've seldom seen post here (I've been on the side lines for quite sometime prior to joining)..........be it members with history......I'm wondering if this annual material bid process (quarterly perhaps) is something a few hang a round for, wait till the last go-arounds, then go " Texas hold'em" knowing that most will fold........?
The process seems to be for a legit cause......and more than likely, helps out the forum budget in some fashion (if the stake holders) are some how vested and the financials are transparent...........At another forum I was associated with, we held quarterly "garage sales".....all the proceeds went into an account that supplemented the monthly forum maintenance fees........we even made money, and actually added a few features to the web-site that pleased the majority of the members.......and made our (admin's) jobs a little less time consuming...(without compensation).....lol
As stated, just an observation........BTW, that forum (web-site) eventually was sold to a larger interested party that continues to publically service (free) the same genre internationally.
