I have been using the lapper and shaping each cab. Often cutting substantial material to 'frame' subject pattern. Steps are as follows for vase shards 1 Dismantle vase into pieces 2 Slump 'melt' (lower temp called slumping without melting colors together)) curved glass to flat in kiln 3 Sit at lapper with a nasty 60 grit wheel and shape silhouette 4 Toss in tumbler to shape girdles and polish. Thin (~4mm) glass like these do not dome much so product is flat. Girdle shape consistent though. In no form or fashion a fine domed cab. And a sales price that will reflect a lesser piece than a fine cab. However thicker glass shards do dome quite nicely and tumbling preserves the dome well. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/915/39835051160_ace775f4b8.jpg) Top facing down and to right and very low dome. 4mm thick which is on the thin side for glass as it seeks 6mm when hard fused. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/889/27774140488_80b9b992d4_z.jpg)
