So, I am definitely new to this. I'm mostly hunting Fairburn Agates, but my son and I pick up anything cool. We're in the Northwest Nebraska/South Dakota area, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out. I'd like to post some pictures of stuff we commonly run across, so I can identify it and do research on it. I have some idea of the things we find from looking around on the web, but I'm not 100% on any of it. Anyone willing to look at some photos and help this noob?

Welcome to the forum.
The first one looks like an iron stained quartz. The second like a rhyolite. The third looks a lot like the banded quartz we get around here, which is usually in purple here. Brought back some of the purple banded quartz from Canada as well. Six looks like a banded iron containing limonite (a mix of iron oxides and hydroxides).

Yeah, the second one is either a TeePee Agate or a Fairburn Agate. I'm leaning more towards TeePee, my son found it on a dirt road...

miket , I'm going to be a buzzkill here. You're enthusiasm is well noted, but I'd direct you to the below about posting photos: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/79551/article-post-photosAttachments are a great feature for periodic posting of photos, but there are downfalls for the forum. No need to feel guilty as you're new, and no need to apologize. However, If you're the type that loves posting lots of photos, I'd gently steer you to a third party hosting site. Thanks for the understanding.
