Good afternoon everyone
I am going to make some sterling silver necklaces out of tumbled amethyst. I have also shaped the amethyst with my Dremel tool before going into the Rock Tumblr. I will also be drilling a1.25 mm hole with a diamond bit. My question is what kind of glue would work best for gluing the sterling silver upeye into the hole of the amethyst.
Thanks Roger

The only adhesive I trust for metal to rock is two part epoxy. If you order stuff from the rock shed I like his devcon product. If not gorilla glue makes a two part epoxy available at Home Depot and it says stone to metal on the label. Chuck

I use JB Weld 5 Min epoxy from Home Depot. It cleans up nicely with alcohol (it is a bear to find that fact in their documentation)

The best glue for rocks is "Epoxy 330" Not cheap and not easy to find though.

I've tried all the above glues, and lots more trying to find one that would stick rocks to glass.. The one I found works best is E6000 by LOCTITE. We even tried to bust off a bail from a pendant and cudnt.

I don't know a great deal about the products mentioned above for jewelry applications, but would worry that an epoxy will yellow or get brittle over time. However, on one project I asked a local jeweler for help and he sold me some jeweler's glue. He said it was an expensive super glue and quite similar to Gorilla glue. In fact, his advice was to save some money and go to the hardware store. I am sometimes a sucker for "expensive is better", so went with the jeweler's glue and don't regret it.

E330. Dries clear, UV stable, non-yellowing and creates an impressive bond.
