First post here. Wanted to share an experiment I am trying. I kept having trouble with keeping my slurry consistency right during my 120/220 phase because I am gone for about 9 hours for work and at night. I would come back and it would be thick and slowed down, so I would have to spray a couple more times to try and get it moving at the right consistency again. However too many times it would make it too watery for a short while until it thickens up again. So being a nurse I thought I could set up a IV drip at a really slow rate (pediatric IVs can go as slow as about 1 drop every 1-1.5 minutes). To give some perspective - 1 spray from my spray bottle is about 18-20 drops. So theoretically that is about 2-3 sprays from a spray bottle in an hour. I am hoping that this will keep the consistency of the slurry better while I am at work or asleep.
So the set up is pediatric IV tubing (60 gtt/mL) bought on Ebay and a drilled hole in the top of my vibe.
Just started a new run so we will see how it works out. Will update later on results.

Not a tumbler, but it sounds neat!

Welcome to the forum. Thinking outside of the box is how great ideas are born. With my vibe the 120/220 stage doe's create a thick slurry and slow down but it does not do it at a consistent rate. I mean after the first 12 hours it slows way down and requires a few squirts of water but then as the grit gets worn down it is less and less effective. In other words 3 drops per hour for the first 6 hours may be great but the same 3 drops per hour at the end of my 48 hour run may have it way to soupy which in turn could damage the rocks.
The other variable is the load of rocks. Obsidian would require a different drip rate then agates and jaspers for instance.

Yeah I am playing with how slow I can make the drip rate and realize that I will only be able to use it ‘sometimes’ (like in the beginning and I will have to be away at work) I am hoping to figure out a system because I have a mini sonic that I want to start using but from what I have read, it can be a little temperamental when it comes to slurry consistency.

That is a good idea. Toyed with a similar idea myself.
Don't know what vibe your running, I have a thumlers. Point is ... it is okay for a vibe to slow down, just not stop. When I have mine running I'm away 10 hours for work. Often come home to a super thick slurry, rocks moving very slow. It never causes any harm to my rocks or bowl.
Very interested how this works out for you.
