So, I had a rock that I was sure is a Fairburn. A friend of mine has a grinder, so we did a bit of grinding on it. I'm attaching a link to the before/after photos. If we wouldn't have done it we wouldn't have seen as much banding. So, to grind or not to grind. That is the question... village.photos/members/Miket/Fairburn-before-after-grinding

Yeah, I decided to sacrifice one to the rock gods in the name of knowledge! I knew there was more, I think I'm going to give it to the same friend to throw in the next time he decided to tumble some rocks. I know that they're more collectible in their natural state, but I'd really like to see how it turns out! I'm heading out again this Friday, wish me luck!

The resolution on my screen does not give me a good view of the finished product, but normally its enough to window and interesting area and leave the rest of the agate to the viewer's imagination. Happy hunting.
