Almost did not post this, as it is a little wonky.
A friend asked if I had any pendants that were amulet size. I thought of this cab I purchased from @<'))))>< Fish
Showed it to my friend and she said it was perfect. It is large, 3” in diameter. Told her I would finish polishing it. She said not to polish too much and leave it at a semi-gloss stage. Also, not to polish out any of the “holes” where there were crystals. Now the technical part, the design. She wanted the pendant to be partially made from natural fiber. Metal colors to be mostly dark, but a little lighter copper. There also had to be some areas that looked like vine tendrils, but a very simple overall design. It also had to have a large loop in the bail and the necklace part had to be easily removable and again, natural fiber. Whew!
This is what I ended up with. She loved it. My friend is very eclectic. Also performs ceremonies and rituals.
Before giving to her, I did straighten out the portions of wire that are a little crooked in the photos and removed the polish that is shown in two areas. It is strung on the same style cord as the pendant, jut a larger diameter.
Friend ended up paying more than what I had asked.
I learned a lot making this. Started over several times. The brown cord on the pendant is waxed cotton. The knots on the back are small and sealed with epoxy. Learned I need to get some more hand tools, as I used hemostats, jewelry wore cutters and needle nose plyers for this. Also need to find a source for better wire and get some “real” rock polish. Neither of these is available local.
It was a fun project for a good friend. I was not happy with the end result, but she was.
