Hi All
I've just set my tumbler off again after a 10 year break ! Unfortunately one of my barrels has decided it will not hold a seal, I think it may have been pressed against something while it was packed away. I've cleaned it out and set it on the tumbler empty to keep the good barrel in place - is the weight difference on each side going to be an issue?
Thanks

Should not make a difference at all. However, if you're concerned about even wear in the bearings (over time), you could always just alternate which end the loaded barrel is placed on the rollers. As far as the barrel that won't seal, was it stored without the lid on? If so, put the lid back on as if you were loading rocks and let it sit a while. Perhaps the rubber will re-form a bit so you get a better seal. You haven't lost anything if it doesn't work. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Thanks Dave - great suggestions.
Yes it didn't have the lid on while stored - lesson learned ! I'm planning to buy another barrel soon anyway but hopefully I can salvage the old one too.
Just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to break tumbler running like this for the week or so before I can get a new barrel - I'll switch the barrels around each day between now and then also.

Welcome back to tumbling. No issue at all running just one barrel on a 33B tumbler. Go for it.

I would put the lid back on the problem barrel and roll it dry for a few days to round it back out.
