The card I have on file at Amazon expired a couple years ago. (Did that because my 4 YO granddaughter was ordering stuff with my wife's Kindle.)

That sucks!
Did you reach out to them or did you click on the email link ?
Sometimes that is a scam and they then get your info that way

Sometimes that is a scam and they then get your info that way The email said that they "received a request to reset the password associated with this email address" and told me to click on a link if I had made the request but to ignore it if I hadn't. Needless to say, I ignored it. Logged in directly and changed my password, anyway, just to be safe.

I am constantly receiving emails that my Amazon password was changed. I do not have an Amazon Account! I just delete the emails and never click on them.

The scam emails I get, supposedly from Amazon, says my "shipment is ready for delivery". I don't even open those.

I always call the company directly if I think ive been breached. Most emails get ignored. I check this every now and then www.consumer.ftc.gov/features/scam-alerts

Makes me wonder if you downloaded a keylogger. The odds seem kinda low that both these things would happen so close to each other. It's very easy to be infected with a key logger. I would do a bunch of malware and virus scans.

I have a hard time finding words.
How would I ever remember where I wrote down passwords from a couple of hours ago?

OK...I've decided someone is messing with me. Probably someone I know...like my IT expert son or my hacker grandson. Got an email from Amazon thanking me for reviewing an item I not only never purchased, but have no idea what it does. Checked my order history to see if someone had purchased it using my account. Nope.
When I figure out who the practical joker is, he/she will find out how this grumpy old guy goes about getting even. <evil grin>

Seems really fishy to me.

I got another email from Amazon thanking me for reviewing a product I hadn't purchased or even looked at. Interestingly, it was for an item from the same manufacturer as the first one. Thinking about deleting my account and re-registering with a new user ID and email address. Not sure if/how that will affect my wife's Kindle (which is registered to me), though.
Hmm...the Kindle!!! I wonder if that's how someone is getting in? Not sure how one goes about adding security to one of those.

I would call Amazon and tell them what's going on and ask abt the kindle registration thing, too. They are usually pretty good on the phone.

It hasn't been enough of a problem to warrant spending time on the phone. Simpler to just delete the bogus reviews. If it happens again, though, I'll probably call.
