Hi all , It was just above freezing level and we had some sunshine , so it wasn't all that cold haha. The coldest week in living memory was 9 years ago here in the area , when it froze during the day as well for a whole week with many burst pipes and the like. It was an unusual blast from the southpole. But normaly it is mild enough for our cows to be outside all year round, even though we do get nighttime frosts. But usualy it is dry then and the cows can handle the cold as long as they are well fed. Here follow some more fotos Enjoy Jack clyde dam spilling at lake Dunsten Lindis Pass area about 3000 feet elevation on the road also Lindis Pass area Penstock above lake Pukaki near Mt Cook near Mt Cook and McKenzie Basin highets mountain in view is Mt Cook about 12.500 feet high Southern Alps range We walked around a small lake which had some icy bits nearby another view of same small lake we came upon a live roadblock late afternoon view of Mt Cook looking across lake Pukaki lake Pukaki is actualy in an old glacial valley, scar is visible on the mountain slope Merino sheep got horns top end of lake Pukaki with glacial deposits Jeannine using bynoculars under fantastic skies nice cloud formations due to the mountains and the final foto for today along the edge of lake Pukaki and Mt Cook in view thanks for looking Jack

Gorgeous photos, my mother-in-law is from New Zealand. She's often told me of how gorgeous it is down there.

Jack, you DO realize that you are just killin' us over here with all those fabulous photos of NZ, don't you? You best be careful or we might all just pack our bags and end up on your doorstep one of these days!
"Hi, Jack, got room to put up a few of your rockhounding friends for a few days, er weeks, maybe a month. There's only 3, no wait, 6, er, actually there's 15 of us. We just had to come visit after seeing all your beautiful NZ pictures."
