From Home Depot and cheap. LED and pure white light output. Mounted under kitchen cabinet, serves well as a strong light for food prep too. Good for decent photos without using a light box. Bright enough for faster shutter hand held macro's. Photo of glass, darker photo was original, the brighter photo was brightened only in photo software without orange or yellow increase.    |

I was hoping to get an answer on which lite it is before now, I am going to home depot this morning and want to pick one up.

Oops, I am too late. you can not go wrong with the big one or the little one. I bought both, the big one works great as a serious work light downstairs. This one is about 6 inches X 8 inches which will tell you which it is(the little one). The little one has more than enough light at up to 5 feet away. I mounted it via supplied bracket with a single 10-24 bolt with fender washers, pivots in all directions. User friendly. |

I am think about mounting it on the ceiling over my photo taking table. Fun to play with, thanks for the idea! I have some other photo lights but having shadow problems. |

It is some true white light woodman. I think you will be pleased. Cheap and darn powerful, burns cool, easy to mount. The bigger unit lights up the shop. |

Would that be the same model that jamesp bought, or is it larger? Is there a polish on that wood? There's certainly enough light to see detail, but if there's a polish, I wonder if diffusing would help to not wash it out. Still deciding on a lighting solution myself, but with the current kitchen remodel (and new daylight led's), I'm hopeful I'll have something I can work with. |

I'm hoping that our new fixtures will diffuse the light so the shine is still picked up. Granted, a new kitchen is a bit pricier than a fixture, but I'm hoping the diffused fixtures will work for me down the road. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Absent that, the Home Depot lights might be a great alternative. Thanks to you and jamesp for sharing your results. |
